I believe unconditional love is freely available to us all and you’re so right - it shouldn’t take a baby to access it! Some people enjoy the extra cherry on their sundae and some people like cherries, but only want one on their sundae. My baby is the extra cherry and I’m thankful everyday for that. All women are incredible and we need more like you speaking about this choice - because it should be a choice. Making the decision to have a baby from a place of FOMO (or force, as the USA moves to enact) isn’t helpful for anyone. Thank you for writing this. Thank you so much for writing this. I have been thinking about kids a lot lately (because my "clock is ticking") and I need to read more of this kind of perspective. It is easy to feel like you are going to end up as the sad weirdo with no children.....and it is even worse if you don't have a partner!
Love is something that has to be nurtured and if we put the same energy and nourish the relationships around us as those with children are inevitably forced to give to said children I believe we can experience a love just as intense. This was so great to read, it’s brave to put these feelings into words with all the backlash women constantly receive for such comments but it helps so many people just like myself 💖
